Whether you are creating videos or photos, the process for finding and applying for jobs on JoinBrands follows the same flow. This article covers everything in one place.
🎓 Step 1: Get Certified
Before applying for any job on JoinBrands, you need to complete the relevant certification for that content type. Certifications can be found in your Certifications Tab.
Below is a summary of each certification and how you can get certified for each.
Video Certifications;
There are three video certifications. The generic Video certification covers all standard video styles — How-To, Unboxing, Product Review, Product Demo, and Custom Video — so you earn it once to apply for any of them. Green Screen and Ad Video are specialized certifications you earn separately.

Photo Certifications;
There is one Image certification. It covers all photo styles — Selfie with Product, Lifestyle Shots, Product Demo Pictures, and Product Only — so you earn it once to apply for any photo job.

📓 Once your certification is approved, you will be able to apply for all jobs under that content type. Social media certifications (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Amazon, TikTok Shop) are separate and unchanged.
🔎 Step 2: Find Jobs in the Marketplace
All available jobs live in the Marketplace tab. The marketplace is organized into tabs so you can quickly find the type of work you want:
Pick the tab that matches what you're looking for — For You (your personalized feed), UGC, Affiliate, Influencer, Local, or Commission Only. Within each tab, use the sub-filters (such as Your Niches, High Earnings, or Express) and the Sort by menu to narrow the results down to the jobs you're most interested in.
Once you find a job you are interested in, click the job name to expand the details and review the full description. Make sure you can deliver exactly what the brand requires before applying.
When you are ready, click 'Apply to this Job' - and hope you get accepted!
📓 Brands typically select creators within 1-2 business days of the job going live.
⚠️ Before accepting any job, carefully read the full instructions to make sure you understand the requirements and are confident you can deliver the content the brand expects.
🔥 Commission Only is different. The Commission Only tab lists TikTok Shop Commission Deals that take place entirely on TikTok Shop — there are no applications, deliveries, or JoinBrands payments. You're linked straight to TikTok Shop, where you add the product to your showcase and earn commission on sales. Available to approved TikTok Shop affiliates in the US only. Learn more here.
⚡ Optional: Let Smart Apply Do It for You
Don't want to apply to jobs one by one? Smart Apply automatically applies you to all eligible jobs that match your rules — every hour, even while you're offline. Enable it from the Marketplace, and turn it off anytime in your account settings.
When you set up Smart Apply, you can fine-tune exactly which jobs it applies to:
Choose job rules — narrow your matches by Product category and Job types so you're only applied to relevant work.
Minimum earn on content — set a payout floor so Smart Apply skips jobs that pay below your threshold.
Stop words — list words you'd rather avoid; we'll skip any job that includes them in the title, product name, brand name, or description.
Once you're happy with your rules, click Save — and Smart Apply takes it from there.
📓 Keep it active: Smart Apply only runs while your account is active — log in at least once every 7 days to keep it applying on your behalf.
⚠️ Smart Apply is currently available on the desktop platform. The mobile version is coming soon, pending app store approval.
📦 Step 3: Place Your Order
Once you have been selected for a job, the next step depends on the delivery method set by the brand:
Reimbursement jobs
You will need to purchase the product and submit your order number within 48 hours of accepting the job. If the order number is not added within this window, the job will be automatically cancelled.
Shipped by Brand
The brand will ship the product directly to you. Wait for it to arrive before proceeding.
No Shipping Needed
No product is required. You can proceed directly to content creation.
☎️ Step 4: Create and Submit Your Content
Once you have received the product, create your content and upload it to JoinBrands.
General Best Practices for All Content:
Use your back camera and wipe the lens before filming or shooting.
Ensure good lighting and a clean setup.
Follow the job description carefully and meet all stated requirements.
The product label must be readable left-to-right and not mirrored.
For video content specifically:
Use a waist-high table so both you and the product are visible.
Speak to the camera where possible.
Use natural sound only unless otherwise instructed.
⚠️ Do not add background music or subtitles unless specifically requested, and avoid using any watermarks.
⚠️ Content must be created and submitted by you personally. Submissions made by anyone other than you will not be accepted and may negatively impact your account.
Step 5: Brand Review and Approval
Once your content is submitted and approved by our processing team, the brand has a 10-day window to either approve it or request revisions.
📓 If a brand remains unresponsive and doesn't review any of the content within that window, the system will automatically select one for them and the job will move forward.
💸 Step 6: Get Paid
Once the brand approves your content, payment is sent automatically to your JoinBrands wallet. You can withdraw funds at any time via PayPal — just click Connect PayPal once on your Payout method page to link your account.
📓 You can submit additional upsell content on eligible jobs and will be paid extra if the brand purchases it.
