The separate per‑style photo certifications (Selfie with Product, Lifestyle Shots, Product Demo Pictures, and Product Only) have been combined into one Image certification. Complete it once and you can apply to all of those photo job types. Brands still order each style individually on the marketplace, but you only need this one certification.
📌 What Is the Image Certification? 🤔
The Image certification is JoinBrands' single certification for UGC photos. It confirms that you can create clean, professional, well‑lit product images. Earning it makes you eligible to apply for every photo job type on the marketplace, including Selfie with Product, Lifestyle Shots, Product Demo Pictures, and Product Only.
📸 What you upload: one original photo of you with the product (a selfie‑with‑product style sample). The guidance below explains exactly what we look for.
📌 What Makes a Good Product Image?
1. Clear, well-lit image 💡
Your photo must be bright and easy to see. Natural light works best. Face a window or go outside during daylight. Avoid dark rooms or harsh overhead lighting.
2. Product clearly visible and readable 👀
The product must be fully shown in the photo. Any text or branding should be sharp, readable, and not mirrored or flipped. The product should not be hidden, cropped out, or blurry.
3. Creator clearly visible 👀
For your certification sample, your face should be clearly visible and in focus. Avoid heavy shadows, extreme angles, or anything blocking your face.
4. Simple, clean background ⭐
Use a background that does not distract from you or the product. Plain walls, clean rooms, or non-crowded outdoor settings work best.

📌 How to Take Your Certification Photo
(Step-by-Step)
Stand facing a clean, well-lit background or go outside for natural light
Hold the product close enough so details are visible
Hold your phone at eye level / use a camera stand
Make sure both your face and the product are in focus
Take multiple photos and choose the clearest one → Try the rapid-blast photo feature if your phone has it!
Include unbranded complementary props where possible! This is how you stand out as a creator!
📌 Technical Quality Standards (Must Meet All)
Your photo must be:
High resolution (Accepted Ratios: [9:16 / 16:9 / 1:1] → Check the upload drop box!)
Lighting is evenly spread on your face and product
Centered primarily on you and the product only
No filters/AI enhancements → Minimal editing works best!
