Creators: What happens if a brand cancels after you bought the product?

How your reimbursement is handled if a brand cancels a reimbursement job after your purchase, and how to avoid it.

Written by Anastasija

On Reimbursement jobs, you buy the product from the marketplace, and JoinBrands pays you back once your job is completed. Occasionally a brand cancels a job after you've already bought the product. When that happens, your reimbursement isn't paid automatically. Here's how it works.

šŸ”„ What happens if the brand cancels

A job counts as being at this stage once you've bought the product and entered the order ID. If the brand cancels the job then:

  1. Your reimbursement is put on hold.

  2. The job goes into review (mediation). Our Brand & Creator Assistance Team reviews the case and decides how the reimbursement amount is settled.

  3. We'll contact you with the outcome. You don't need to do anything to start the review.

šŸ’” Tip: Keep your order confirmation and order ID. They help us review the case quickly. You're welcome to contact the Brand & Creator Assistance Team with your job number and order ID at any time.

āœ… How to avoid it

  • ā±ļø Buy the product within 48 hours of accepting the job, and enter your order ID right away.

  • šŸ“¦ Keep the job on track. Most cancellations at this stage happen because a job has gone Late. If something outside your control delays you, tell the brand in the job chat as soon as possible.

  • šŸ’¬ Talk to the brand before anything changes. If the brand asks you to cancel, or asks for something you can't do, contact the Brand & Creator Assistance Team before cancelling.

āš ļø Important: If you cancel a reimbursement job after receiving the product, you won't be reimbursed by JoinBrands. See Creators: What types of jobs can I take? for the full reimbursement flow.
