TikTok Shop Campaigns: Here's How They Work!

πŸ›οΈ Running a TikTok Shop campaign on JoinBrands is the easiest way to turn authentic creator content into shoppable videos that drive sales directly inside TikTok. We've updated the TikTok Shop (TTS) campaign flow to give you cleaner tracking, accurate stats, and a smoother setup experience. Here's a walkthrough of the 4-step campaign creation flow.


πŸ“‹ Step 1: Campaign Info

This is where you set the foundation of your TikTok Shop campaign.

  • Business type β€” pick what best describes your brand (eCommerce, Software/App, Local Business, or Other).

  • Campaign objective β€” select Content + Posting so creators both create and publish the video on TikTok.

  • Content type β€” choose TikTok Shop videos.

⚠️ Important: As soon as you select TikTok Shop videos, the TikTok Shop Authorization screen will pop up. Hit Continue to authorize JoinBrands to access your TikTok Shop data β€” this is what lets us track the performance of TikTok Shop affiliates and creators working on your campaigns.

  • Choose shop β€” If you don't have a TikTok Shop connected yet, you'll see a Connect TikTok Shop button in the Choose shop section. Click it, authorize JoinBrands, and your shop will appear in the dropdown. You can also Connect another TikTok Shop at any time if you manage multiple stores.

πŸ’‘ Heads up: After connecting your TikTok Shop, products and videos may take 1–2 minutes to appear in the setup flow. Give it a moment and refresh if needed.

πŸ““ Note: Once your TikTok Shop account is connected, the system automatically generates a new Brand containing all of your active TikTok Shop products. This avoids conflicts with your existing brands and products.

  • Choose product - Hit Select product and pick 1 product from your TikTok Shop to attach to this campaign. This is the product creators will feature and link in their videos.

  • TikTok Shop product link - Choose how creators will drive traffic in their video:

    • πŸ”— Product link β€” creators link directly to your TikTok Shop product page.

    • 🎬 Shoppable video link β€” creators link to an existing TikTok Shop video, so viewers land on a full shoppable video experience.

  • Price per job - Set what you'll pay creators per video. Offering a higher rate increases the likelihood of attracting top-quality creators.

⚠️ Important: The minimum price per job is $50 USD (or the equivalent in EUR, GBP, or other supported currencies).

  • Content volume settings (new) - Toggle on Allow multiple content pieces per creator to let approved creators submit more than one video for this campaign. After Job #1 is approved, additional jobs are automatically generated.

    • Max additional jobs per creator β€” set how many extra videos each creator can submit after their first (e.g., 5 additional jobs = 6 videos total per creator).

    • Price for each additional job β€” set the rate you'll pay for every video after the first one.

Round out Step 1 with the rest of your campaign details:

  • Content brief β€” describe the product, key features, talking points, and anything you specifically want to see in the video.

  • Performance bonus (optional) β€” reward creators with extra cash when they hit your campaign goals. Pick a metric, set a goal value, and add a reward amount.

  • Desired date for posting (optional) β€” suggest a posting date that gives the creator enough time to receive the product and create content (recommended minimum: 7 days).

  • Source files (optional) β€” upload your logo, product images, videos, or brand assets (PNG, JPG up to 50MB; MP4, MOV up to 1GB; or PDF) to help creators deliver on-brand content.

  • Caption (optional) β€” suggest a caption for the creator's TikTok post. Add emojis, hashtags, and trends to maximize reach.

  • References (optional) β€” add suggested links that give the creator content ideas.

  • Campaign name β€” an internal name only you can see, for organization.

πŸ‘₯ Step 2: Creators Parameters

Here's where you decide who can apply to your campaign. Only creators matching these parameters will be able to apply.

  • Gender β€” Male, Female, or both.

  • Preferable age β€” pick any combination of 18–24, 25–34, 35–44, or 45+.

  • Ethnicity β€” choose from White, Hispanic, African American, Asian, or Middle Eastern.

  • Special requirements (optional) β€” tag specific needs like Dog, Cat, Toddler, Baby, Kids, Mom, Garden, Pool, Kitchen, Home Gym, Backyard, Makeup Skills, Fashion Styling, Hair Styling, Voiceover Skills, or Cooking Skills β€” or add your own custom requirement.

  • Creators approval β€” Manual (you review each application) or Automatic (all matching creators are approved). With Manual, you can also Auto-approve favorite creators or Exclude creators I worked with.

  • Counteroffer β€” toggle on to allow creators to suggest a different price if they don't accept your initial offer.

  • Number of creators needed β€” 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 75, or Unlimited.

  • Daily job limit β€” optionally cap how many jobs can be taken per day.

πŸ“¦ Step 3: Product Information

Next, confirm the brand and product details and how creators will get the product.

  • Brand or trade name β€” select an existing brand or add a new one. Your TikTok Shop products are automatically grouped under a brand we generate for you when you first connect your shop.

  • Product or service β€” select an existing product or add a new one with details and a link.

  • Delivery β€” choose one of three options:

    • πŸ’³ Reimbursement β€” the creator buys your product from the marketplace and gets reimbursed.

    • πŸ“¦ Delivered by me β€” you ship the product directly to the creator using their saved address.

    • πŸ’» No shipping needed β€” for digital products (apps, websites, memberships, etc.) where there's nothing to ship.

For Reimbursement jobs, you'll also enter the product's shipping cost and taxes so the creator gets reimbursed for the full amount they paid.


πŸ’° Step 4: Campaign Summary & Payment

The final step shows a full recap of your campaign β€” product, job details, creator requirements, and the estimated cost per job (which includes an 8% platform fee). If Content volume settings are on, you'll also see the cost for each additional job and the total cost per creator.

Then choose your payment method:

  • My Wallet β€” pay from your JoinBrands balance.

  • Promo Wallet β€” use any promotional credits you've earned.

  • Another payment method β€” pay by Credit or Debit Card (a 3.5% card processing fee applies).

Hit Create campaign to send it to our team for review.


⏱️ What Happens Next

Once submitted, your campaign goes through a quick review by our team β€” usually within 24 hours. After approval:

  • Creators apply (if you chose Manual approval, you'll review each application).

  • 🌟 Pro tip: Hover over a creator's name for a quick profile preview.

  • Approved creators receive (or buy) your product and film their TikTok Shop video.

  • You review the first submission and approve it. If Content volume settings are on and you decide to keep working with the creator, the next job is automatically generated β€” no further approvals needed for each new video.

  • πŸ“¬ Creators upload the video to TikTok with the correct TikTok Shop product link (or shoppable video link) and share the direct link back with you.

  • πŸ“Š TikTok Shop stats sync directly into your campaign so you can track performance in one place.
