π Retainer jobs are long-term brand partnerships where you create content on an ongoing schedule β steady income, stronger creative relationships, and room to build something real with a brand you love. Here's how the whole process works.
Before you start, make sure you're certified as a TikTok and TikTok Shop Affiliate Creator and that your Instagram Certification is complete β you can find both under your Certifications tab.
π Heads up: Retainer jobs are currently only available for TikTok, Instagram, or TikTok + Instagram content.
β οΈ Important: Retainer jobs work differently from one-time jobs β you won't find them on the marketplace. They're invite-only, meaning a brand has to personally send you the offer.
π How Retainer Jobs Work
π¬ The brand will send you an invitation by email and through your in-app notifications (visible on desktop when you log in). You'll also see it under your Messages tab and the Dashboard.
π¦ Once you accept the offer, the brand will confirm your shipping address and share the tracking number. As soon as the product arrives, go to your messages with the brand and click the "I have the product" option to keep the job moving.
β οΈ Important: If the brand doesn't confirm the delivery address, the job status won't update β which can hold up the rest of the workflow.
π‘ Tip: Before you accept, click Job Details to see the full brief β content requirements, delivery expectations, and anything else the brand wants you to know.
π From Job Details, you'll be taken to your Job Calendar β where all your scheduled posts for the retainer live.
β οΈ Important: Your schedule only appears once you've confirmed receipt of the product. Any delay in address confirmation or product receipt can hold up the whole calendar.
β οΈ Important: Always upload your content to your Job Calendar before posting it on your social media account. This lets the brand review your video before it goes live and ensures our system tracks your submission properly β which avoids any payment issues down the line.
π Note: Once a scheduled date passes, you can no longer submit content for that day β only upcoming scheduled dates will be available. For example, if your contract is 10 videos per month posted every 3 days, you'll follow each deadline in order. The retainer runs until all 10 videos are complete, and if the brand doesn't end the contract within 3 days of your final video, the schedule automatically rolls into the next cycle.
πΈ Once the brand approves your content and you provide the URL to your published post, your payment is automatically released to your JoinBrands wallet β from there, you can withdraw the funds via PayPal whenever you're ready.
π That's it β go build something amazing!
